Painter Job Description
The Painter is responsible for prepping material and spraying paint to adequately cover and protect the finished product. Meeting cosmetic quality specifications is required. The painter will load and un-load racks and pallets prior to and after painting to keep product flowing smoothly throughout the shop.
Work in a team environment. Communicate timely and effectively with counterparts that your work impacts. Work closely with employees on other shifts to coordinate use of shared equipment.
Responsibilities will include training less experienced employees to support daily operations. As well as being a backup to other areas to fill high demand orders and in a timely manner and cover vacations, etc.
Work is completed under the direction and/or guidance of a shop foreman.
Responsibilities:
Lifting up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis
Utilizing fork lifts and cranes for parts over 50lbs
Load and un-load materials utilizing cranes and/ or fork trucks as needed.
Produce parts safely while meeting quality specifications.
Maintain Paint Booth and Equipment
Mix and spray paint
Clean paint guns timely
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment
Utilize hand tools to deburr parts. Meet daily time requirements while producing parts in a timely manner.
Train, guide, and educate other employees in Paint Booth.
Work in a team environment and be flexible to move from job to job to support the schedule.
Additional Responsibilities When Not working on Production Parts:
The following additional responsibilities may be assigned by the shop manager:
Assist other shop personnel in their daily duties when directed (saw, plasma, assembly, etc)
Housekeeping is an important responsibility. When not actively involved in production activities then housekeeping will need to be done.
Job Type: Full-time
Will have 60-day review to be hired into a full-time position.
Required Qualifications for Flight Press and Painter: High School diploma or GED
Applicants must submit to drug screening and background check.
Similar manufacturing experience a plus.
Experience in a team environment a plus.
Communications skills required.
Able to be trained to run press and paint booth equipment.
Able to be trained to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequent bending and squatting. Standing for long periods of time.
Schedule:
First shift: 8-hour shift Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
or 2nd shift: 10-hour shift Monday to Thursday 2:30 PM – 01:00 AM
