The Brush Generating Station consists of four power generation units located on a single site. The facility operates a combination of Siemens/Westinghouse W251AA gas turbines, GE Frame 6B gas turbines, and corresponding GE steam turbine systems. The plant requires Field Operators who can safely support the operation, maintenance, startup, shutdown, and troubleshooting of critical power generation equipment while maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and environmental compliance.
The Field Operator is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment while coordinating closely with the Control Room Operator (CRO). This role performs both operations and maintenance activities, conducts inspections, monitors equipment performance, responds to plant conditions, and assists with startup, shutdown, and outage activities. Successful candidates are self-motivated, safety-focused, and thrive in a dynamic power generation environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plant systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient generation.
- Support plant startup, shutdown, normal operations, and emergency response activities.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and operational rounds.
- Record operating data, equipment readings, and system parameters.
- Identify abnormalities and promptly communicate observations to the Control Room Operator.
- Execute emergency operating procedures and casualty control actions when required.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities as assigned.
- Identify mechanical and electrical issues and initiate work requests for repairs.
- Assist maintenance teams during planned outages and major maintenance events.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout plant facilities.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
- Follow all plant safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and training activities.
- Provide recommendations to improve safety and environmental programs.
- Maintain familiarity with emergency response procedures and site-specific safety requirements.
