What are the responsibilities and job description for the Platform Engineer position at Console?
Console is building a platform that redefines how enterprises operate. We use AI to autonomously resolve back office tasks the moment they come in from Slack or Teams. Our mission is to make enterprise operations invisible. The first step is building the best AI agent platform for IT, HR, and RevOps teams; one that deeply understands context, takes action, and improves systems over time.
Companies like Databricks, Figma, and Cursor already run their back office on Console. We've raised $29M, backed by Thrive Capital (investors in OpenAI, Stripe, GitHub) and a small group of founders who've built category-defining companies.
We’re unusually selective about the people we work with. We hire builders who span functions, optimize for speed, and care deeply about their craft. We do not care about pedigree. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Join us.
About The Role
We're hiring a Platform Engineer to build the foundation that lets Console scale to hundreds of enterprise customers without breaking a sweat. You'll work closely with the CTO to architect the infrastructure layer, the systems, services, and deployment infrastructure that the entire engineering team builds on top of.
This isn't a maintenance role. You'll be making foundational architectural decisions and owning the platform from the ground up as we go from early-scale to enterprise-grad

What You'll Do
- Architect and ship a self-hostable version of Console, unlocking enterprise use cases with strict data and security constraints
- Own how we ship to production by designing and evolving a deployment system that stays fast, reliable, and downtime-free as we scale
- Build and run our cloud infrastructure across AWS/GCP, making critical tradeoffs across performance, cost, and reliability
- Make the entire engineering team faster by improving tooling, workflows, and the day-to-day developer experience
- Drive how we build and deploy, from faster builds to safer releases such as blue-green deployments, so we can ship quickly without breaking things
- 5 years of full-time experience in backend or platform engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP and a real understanding of the tradeoffs, not just the defaults
- Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or Pulumi and relative comfort with our stack (TypeScript/Node/React)
- A track record building high-scale, production-grade systems from the ground up
- Strong instincts around developer experience and a drive to build platforms other engineers love building on
- A bias toward reliability and quality where good enough genuinely bothers you
- Product-market fit: We have built the leading product in our category, in a massive market. We've hit an inflection point and are on track to build a generational company.
- World-class team: We seek high agency contributors who are comfortable navigating ambiguity, ruthlessly prioritize what matters and are action-biased.
- Grow with us: We reward impact, not credentials or years of experience. We intend to grow talent from within as we scale up.
- Competitive pay and benefits: top compensation with full benefits including:
- Equity with early exercise & QSBS eligibility
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- Unlimited PTO
- 401(k)
- Meals provided daily in office
Salary : $200,000 - $350,000
