What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forward Deployed Engineer position at Console?
Console is building a platform that redefines how enterprises operate. We use AI to autonomously resolve back office tasks the moment they come in from Slack or Teams. Our mission is to make enterprise operations invisible. The first step is building the best AI agent platform for IT, HR, and RevOps teams; one that deeply understands context, takes action, and improves systems over time.
Companies like Databricks, Figma, and Cursor already run their back office on Console. We've raised $29M, backed by Thrive Capital (investors in OpenAI, Stripe, GitHub) and a small group of founders who've built category-defining companies.
We’re unusually selective about the people we work with. We hire builders who span functions, optimize for speed, and care deeply about their craft. We do not care about pedigree. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Join us.
About The Role
You’ll own the full customer arc, from running the technical sale to leading implementation to driving long-term adoption. Pre-sales, you’re in the room: demoing the platform, building POCs, and turning a prospect’s messy ticket queue into a clear automation roadmap. Post-sales, you’re on the ground: shipping integrations, driving adoption, and making sure customers hit real ROI fast. You are the reason customers buy, go live, and stay.
You'll have room to be creative, work autonomously with customers, and shape both the platform and the product vision.

What You'll Do
- Map a prospect's messiest workflows into a compelling automation roadmap and deliver demos that move deals forward
- Construct working POCs on the fly, fast enough to change the trajectory of a deal in a single meeting
- Speak fluently across IT, HR ops, and finance stakeholders, earning trust from both customers and executive buyers
- Architect AI-powered workflows and configure integrations across identity systems, HR platforms, and SaaS tools, owning the implementation through to a fast and scalable go-live
- Expand automation coverage post-launch, track ROI, and become the technical advisor customer leadership calls first for strategy, not just support
- Bring field learnings back to the product team: edge cases, deployment patterns, and unmet needs that make the platform better for every account
- 3 years of full-time experience in a technical role or as a software engineer, with hands- on experience across multiple functions or domains
- You’re a technical operator who can sell a vision, ship a solution, and make a customer successful, often in the same week.
- You're technical and can think through technical problems; you've built things from scratch and like to understand how systems work under the hood
- You enjoy working with people and feel a sense of personal responsibility to customers and teammates who rely on you
- You aspire to be a founder and you want to learn as much as you can, as fast as you can, across multiple domains
- Obsessed with building incredible product experiences for users, and never happy with "good enough"
- Product-market fit: We have built the leading product in our category, in a massive market. We've hit an inflection point and are on track to build a generational company.
- World-class team: We seek high agency contributors who are comfortable navigating ambiguity, ruthlessly prioritize what matters and are action-biased.
- Grow with us: We reward impact, not credentials or years of experience. We intend to grow talent from within as we scale up.
- Competitive pay and benefits: top compensation with full benefits including:
- Equity with early exercise & QSBS eligibility
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- Unlimited PTO
- 401(k)
- Meals provided daily in office
Salary : $180,000 - $280,000
