Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio company is actively recruiting for a temporary, Receptionist for an onsite position with a prestigious law firm client of ours in Washington, DC. Prior law firm experience required.
Position Summary
The Receptionist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the front reception area and serves as the first point of contact for all clients, visitors, vendors, and callers. This highly visible, client-facing role requires **white glove service**, exceptional professionalism, strong time management, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Receptionist greets and directs guests, manages front office communications and scheduling, supports attorneys and staff with clerical and administrative needs, and consistently upholds firm policies, confidentiality, and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a professional, courteous, and **white glove** welcome to clients, visitors, and vendors; manage visitor sign-in and promptly announce each arrival.
- Operate a multi-line switchboard, routing calls to attorneys and staff accurately and efficiently.
- Manage the main reception email inbox and voicemail, ensuring timely review, routing, and follow-through.
- Offer general information to callers while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and client-ready reception area; oversee conference rooms and shared spaces to ensure consistent presentation.
- Coordinate conference room scheduling and support meeting logistics (e.g., room readiness, basic set-up) as needed.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries; coordinate with staff for timely handoff.
- Support administrative and clerical tasks such as scanning, copying, filing, and data entry.
- Monitor front office supply levels and coordinate replenishment to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Maintain visitor logs and contribute to a secure, well-managed front office environment.
Qualifications / Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or relevant college coursework preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in a receptionist, front desk, or administrative support role; experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in a client-facing role delivering high-quality service in a professional office setting.
- Experience managing a multi-line phone system and maintaining reliable phone coverage.
- Familiarity with legal office practices (e.g., confidentiality protocols, attorney scheduling, client intake) preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Polished professional presence, strong interpersonal skills, and a calm, solutions-oriented approach.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and standard office equipment (copiers, scanners, phone systems).
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
