Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks, ensuring our recipes maintain a quality, sanitary, and consistent experience.
- Operate POS systems such as Square to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Engage with customers to provide excellent service, answer questions about menu items, and recommend beverages based on preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling, equipment sanitation, and adhering to food safety standards.
- Manage cash handling responsibilities by processing cash transactions accurately and balancing registers at shift end.
- Assist in food preparation tasks when needed, ensuring all food safety protocols are followed diligently.
- Support team members during busy periods by managing time effectively and multitasking between serving, cleaning, and customer engagement.
Qualifications
- Creative and caring personality with an eagerness to learn while letting creativity flow.
- Previous barista experience or food service experience is preferred or a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation protocols is highly preferred.
- Experience with POS systems such as Square is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude; ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Basic math skills for retail math, cash handling, and transaction processing are required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while maintaining a positive demeanor; excellent time management skills are vital.
