What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Design Engineer position at ConRes?
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the mechanical design and packaging for power supplies from inception to final product
- Design from documentation supplied by customers and/or internal specification.
- Generate preliminary documentation for fabrication of prototype models. (May include fabricating, testing and modifying prototypes) with the aid of the project engineer
- Responsible for the redesign of existing product packaging for cost savings and ease of manufacturing
- Work will be performed using a variety of mechanical fabrication equipment in the machine-shop
- Prototyping will include initiating, designing and possible fabricating fixtures, tools and equipment for the manufacture of product with manufacturing
- Initiates production changes to ensure the highest quality product
- Generate instructional information for the manufacturer of product being transferred from engineering to manufacturing with the help of the project engineer
- Follow ISO policy and procedures throughout all work performed
- Make effective and efficient use of all resources including inventory material, supplies, tools and tooling equipment.
- Consult supervisor when unusual conditions exist and safety issues arise
- Maintain necessary records, files and reports to immediate supervisor
- Practice good housekeeping in your area
- Properly maintain equipment in good working order, to include reporting un-calibrated equipment
- Follow established company rules and regulations
- Perform other related duties as required
- Interface with other departments, vendors, and manufactures as required
- Assist manufacturing engineering in creating processes, equipment and procedures in an effort to insure the most efficient and highest quality builds possible
