Responsibilities
Systems Monitoring and Maintenance
- Management of IT Security and IT Risk across the enterprise.
- Performs tests and assists with network disaster recovery plans.
- Performs risk assessments and tests data processing systems on techniques and procedures.
- Recommends security improvements and procurements.
- Supports staff with system security concerns to determine the hardware, software, or system functional resolution.
- Monitors the Foundation’s networks for security breaches and investigates violations when they occur.
- Monitors firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information.
- Prepares reports that document security breaches and the extent of the damage caused by the breaches.
- Assists in Digital Forensics and Incident Response activities.
- Assists with server management, troubleshooting and patching.
- Conducts internal security testing and audits.
- Helps plan and carry out the Foundation’s security strategy.
- Recommends security enhancements to management or senior IT staff.
- Prepares reports that document security breaches and the extent of the damage caused by the breaches.
- Trains staff on network and information security procedures and assists staff when they need to install or learn about new security products.
- Develops IT Security policies, procedures and standards.
- Serves as project lead within IT Security projects.
- Researches the latest information technology security trends.
- Undertakes projects and other duties as assigned.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and traffic using monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, outages, and latency problems.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points).
- Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks to ensure security, reliability, and performance.
- Implement and maintain network security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, network segmentation).
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Security certifications.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT or IT security.
- Experienced in configuring and managing switching and routing for Cisco Networks.
- Experience in Asset and Cloud Security.
- Experience in software and security architectures.
- Working experience with intrusion detection systems.
- Excellent written/oral communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude and demonstrates a high level of responsiveness and customer service.
- Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills with high attention to priority and detail.
- Works well independently and within a team and demonstrates a high degree of initiative, flexibility and collaboration.
- Ability to continually seek information and look for new approaches to processes and practices.
- Welcomes feedback as a means to personal and professional growth.
- Extensive experience in routing and switching.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in physical and logical network topology.
- Ability to work on-site at least three days each week (MTW) according to the hybrid schedule policy.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
