As we continue our expansion, we are seeking a Director of Sales & Business Development to lead our next phase of revenue growth. This role is central to our strategic plan and provides an opportunity to shape the future of our company.
Job Summary
The Director of Sales & Business Development leads Conrad Kacsik’s sales function, serving as a player-coach responsible for both driving revenue and building the sales infrastructure needed for long-term growth. This role acts as the “quarterback” of the sales effort, setting direction, calling the right plays and leading execution.
This is intentionally structured as a balanced role, with approximately 50% focused on selling and closing business and 50% focused on sales process development, team leadership and overall sales management. The role includes closing high-value opportunities across engineered systems, compliance services and product sales.
This position will also focus on expanding revenue within an established customer base while developing and executing the go-to-market strategy. The Director will guide the sales team and strengthen Conrad Kacsik’s position as a full-service partner for manufacturers performing thermal processing and heat treating, particularly in industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive, forging, coatings and medical.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s sales strategy to support revenue growth and market expansion.
- Identify high-value market opportunities across industries including aerospace, defense, automotive, forging, coatings and medical,
- Align sales efforts with company initiatives to expand engineered process control systems, consulting and compliance services.
Revenue Growth & Deal Leadership
- Personally pursue and close strategic opportunities that include engineered systems and multiple facility service engagements.
- Lead consultative sales conversations with plant managers, quality leaders and executives responsible for thermal processing operations.
- Position Conrad Kacsik as a long-term partner capable of improving compliance, reliability and operational profitability.
Sales Team Development
- Recruit, train and lead a team of technical sales representatives and account managers.
- Provide coaching on consultative selling, industry knowledge and solution-based sales approaches.
- Create clear expectations, performance metrics and ongoing development plans for the sales team.
Sales Process & CRM Management
- Own the sales operating system and pipeline management within HubSpot.
- Ensure consistent tracking of opportunities, forecasting accuracy and next-step discipline.
- Leverage ZoomInfo for targeted prospecting and contact enrichment
- Develop scalable sales tools including:
- Discovery frameworks
- Qualification scorecards
- Proposal templates
- Follow-up sequences
- Sales playbooks
Marketing & Lead Conversion
- Partner closely with the marketing team to ensure leads generated through HubSpot are effectively qualified and pursued.
- Provide feedback on messaging, targeting and campaign performance to improve lead quality and conversion rates.
Strategic Accounts & Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with key clients, OEM partners and industry organizations.
- Serve as the senior contact for major accounts and high value projects.
- Expand strategic partnerships with manufacturers, engineering firms and technology providers.
Market Intelligence
- Provide leadership with insights on industry trends, client challenges and competitive positioning.
- Identify opportunities to expand Conrad Kacsik’s services into emerging sectors and applications.
Qualifications
- 8–15 years of experience in B2B technical or industrial sales.
- Demonstrated success selling complex solutions and engineered systems.
- Experience building or leading sales teams and establishing scalable sales processes.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to lead consultative conversations with technical and operational leaders.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred).
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Focus on accountability and execution.
- Experience in thermal processing, heat treating, industrial furnace systems, instrumentation or calibration services.
- Background selling into regulated industries such as aerospace, automotive, defense and medical device manufacturing.
- Engineering or technical education or equivalent experience.
- Experience selling solutions tied to compliance standards such as AMS2750, Nadcap or ISO/IEC 17025.
Success Metrics
Success in this role will be measured by:
