Senior Director, Business Development – Remote with Travel
Conrac Solutions seeks a Senior Director of Business Development. The Senior Director will serve as a senior member of the Business Development team, working closely with the CDO. This role is responsible for identifying and driving growth initiatives in airport infrastructure, with a primary focus on private development and third-party operations of Consolidated Rental Car (ConRAC) facilities. The role requires translating strategy into executable pursuits, engaging key stakeholders, and leading cross-functional teams to capture new business while enhancing the company’s market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Advance the development and execution of the company’s business development strategy for airport infrastructure opportunities, translating growth objectives into executable near- and mid-term pursuits.
- Directly influence project delivery models and procurement structures through early engagement with airports and consultants.
- Develop pursuit materials, briefing decks, and executive-level presentations that shape early project concepts and clearly articulate value propositions.
- Collaborate with the finance and project development teams to generate clear, compelling client-facing materials, requiring a deep understanding of the company’s full portfolio of services in order to tailor messaging, scope, and value propositions for each individual pursuit.
- Lead the selection and implementation of an opportunity management system in the first year.
- Identify, qualify, and prioritize new market opportunities and leads.
- Drive proactive outreach and relationship development with airports, RACs, advisors, and industry partners to position the company early in project lifecycles.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to advance pursuits from concept through formal procurement.
- Support company growth initiatives beyond traditional airport landside infrastructure, including energy and airside opportunities.
- Cultivate trusted relationships and expand market presence at industry conferences, client meetings, and stakeholder engagements to strengthen brand presence and market positioning.
- Contribute to a disciplined, opportunity-driven growth approach, emphasizing actionable strategy.
- Anticipate client needs and proactively identify opportunities to add value.
- Maintain regular, meaningful communication that strengthens trust and brand credibility with industry influencers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive experience in Business Development, with a demonstrated focus on infrastructure projects, preferably within aviation, airport, transportation, or large public-sector environments.
- Demonstrated expertise serving as a senior leader within a Business Development function, with end-to-end ownership of complex infrastructure pursuits (including airport and transportation programs), responsible for shaping pipeline strategy, prioritizing opportunities, and aligning pursuits with long-term growth objectives.
- Experience advising internal C-suite and leadership, with the demonstrated maturity to address multi-faceted stakeholder inquiries. Must be adept at translating complex project variables into clear, authoritative responses that support Board-level decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to independently develop and execute capture strategies, including go/no-go decision-making, pursuit planning, competitive positioning, teaming strategies, and pricing alignment.
- Deep understanding of public-sector procurement processes, with the ability to influence outcomes through strategic positioning.
- Strong capability in stakeholder and relationship management, including client agencies, industry partners, consultants, and internal executive teams.
- Demonstrated success collaborating cross-functionally with executive leadership, legal, operations, and technical teams to drive coordinated pursuit strategies and winning proposals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
- Ability to travel up to 30%-40% of the time for client engagements, industry conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The annual base compensation for this role is$185,000 - $210,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location. This position is open to candidates nationwide.
