About the Campaign
Connor Murray is a young, progressive Democrat running to represent the 18th Essex District in the Massachusetts state legislature. His priorities include healthcare and education reform, affordable clean energy, and ensuring Massachusetts remains a safe and inclusive place to live for everyone who calls the Bay State home. The district consists of parts of Andover, North Andover, Tewksbury, and Boxford.
Job Summary
The Murray Committee is seeking high school and college students interested in learning about political campaigning and state-level government. Interns will have the opportunity to work directly with the candidate and his core staff in areas of critical importance to campaign success including communications and field operations. They will develop skills necessary for a career in public service through direct contact with voters, activists, town administrators, elected leaders, and other stakeholders.
The campaign is currently hiring for the spring semester. Work with the campaign will begin on February 1st and end according to your school calendar. Compensation consists of a $200 stipend for continuing education and paid opportunities for professional development. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis and interviews for the spring will take place the week of January 19th. Spring semester interns will have the opportunity to reapply for the summer and fall.
The campaign expects 8-15 hours of participation per week and is flexible to accommodate busy schedules. Hours will be approved each week by the campaign manager. Letters of recommendation and course credit are available pending approval by your school. All interested parties are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with ties to the district.
