What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truckload Logistics Scheduler, Warehouse Expansion position at Connexion?
Truckload Logistics Scheduler, Warehouse Expansion
Base: Groton, MA (100% onsite)
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Rate: $25–$30 per hour (overtime generally not anticipated; not guaranteed)
Engagement: 6-month contract with the possibility of extension
The challenge
Our supply chain is evolving—new leadership, new rhythms, and an active push to expand our Clinton warehouse. Materials are moving fast between Groton and Clinton. We need someone who can bring order: plan the trucks, move the freight, and tighten inventory so nothing gets lost in the shuffle.
Imagine this scenario
It’s mid-morning. A carrier calls with a window change. You pivot—re-sequence pickups, update the Clinton Supervisor, correct the bill of lading, and keep the Buyer and Scheduler in the loop. By day’s end, the transfer posts cleanly in inventory, the truck is docked on time, and the team has one less loose end to chase tomorrow.
Your mission
- Own truck scheduling: secure carrier appointments, confirm ETAs, and manage day-of changes.
- Coordinate Groton-to-Clinton transfers to support the warehouse expansion—complete paperwork, communicate receiving needs, and track to closure.
- Reduce inventory discrepancies by reconciling counts and clearing open items.
- Be the point person for carriers—resolve issues and keep stakeholders updated.
- Bring structure to a changing environment and finish what others start.
Who you’ll partner with
Reporting to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager, you’ll collaborate daily with:
- Groton team: Sr. Supply Chain Manager, Buyer, and Scheduler.
- Clinton warehouse: Supervisor plus two team members.
Together, this small, focused group (about seven people) keeps materials moving.
What success looks like in your first 90 days
- Consistent on-time pickups and deliveries across carriers.
- Clean, documented transfers with minimal inventory variances.
- Visible reduction in open exceptions and unresolved transactions.
- Confidence from the team that you can hit the ground running without micromanagement.
What you bring
- Direct experience scheduling trucks and coordinating shipments with trucking companies.
- Strong organization, follow-through, and a solve-it-now mindset.
- Comfort operating independently and making sound day-to-day decisions.
