Contract Material Handler (6+ months)

Job Title: Material Handler

Pay Rate: $18-$20/hr.

Location: West Warwick, RI

Duration: 6 month temporary position with potential to extend or convert to permanent

First Shift

Job Summary:

We are seeking Material Handlers to support day-to-day warehouse and manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for supplying production areas with raw materials and packaging, receiving and organizing incoming materials, maintaining inventory, and assisting with shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse/manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supply production areas with required raw materials and packaging.
• Ensure materials are delivered to the appropriate areas in a timely manner to maintain efficient production.
• Receive incoming shipments and unload materials from trucks.
• Verify, label, organize, and store incoming materials in designated locations.
• Replenish inventory and material storage locations as needed.
• Return unused raw materials to appropriate warehouse locations.
• Perform daily inventory cycle counts.
• Assist with general quality-related activities as needed.
• Respond promptly to requests for materials and packaging.
• Load and unload materials from machines, conveyors, and shipping areas.
• Communicate inventory, material, or workflow issues to appropriate team members.
• Operate pallet jacks and fork trucks as assigned.
• Complete required paperwork accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all established safety procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling experience preferred.
• Experience operating pallet jacks preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory records.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to perform physical warehouse and material handling duties throughout the shift.
