A Day In The Life
As a Preventative Maintenance (Screw), your daily responsibilities will include:
- Clean ACME and Davenport machines, workstations, and surrounding production areas.
- Remove chips, scrap, oil buildup, and debris from machines and work areas.
- Move raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-process throughout the Screw Department.
- Load and stage materials for machine operators as needed.
- Replenish tooling, fluids, and production supplies.
- Assist with machine cleanouts and changeovers.
- Empty chip hoppers and scrap containers following safety guidelines.
- Complete cleaning and housekeeping checklists.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Report machine concerns, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisors.
Experience & Skills
- Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
- Experience working around ACME or Davenport screw machines is a plus.
- Ability to safely use pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to work independently and support multiple operators.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and material-handling tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to work safely around production equipment and wear required PPE.
