Hedge Fund Accountant – Alternative Investment Firm (New Jersey)

Excellent opportunity to join a global alternative investment firm with hedge funds, private equity, real estate funds, and SMAs. This role offers strong mentorship and growth potential, working directly with an experienced Controller who is committed to developing and investing in the person they hire.

The firm is seeking a hedge fund accounting/operations professional who wants broad exposure and long-term career growth within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Seeking candidates with:

• 2–5 years of hedge fund accounting and operations experience

• Experience with equities, futures, and bonds required

• Experience from a hedge fund, fund administrator, hedge fund CFO outsourcing platform is ideal (candidates with public accounting firm with meaningful hedge fund audit/tax exposure will also be considered)

• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V/HLOOKUPs (macros are a plus)

• Experience with Advent Geneva, Bloomberg, and/or QuickBooks is a strong plus

• Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting or Finance preferred)

Responsibilities include:

• Shadow accounting

• Position and cash reconciliations

• Investor allocations

• Month-end NAV processes

• Coordinating with fund administrators, auditors, tax providers, prime brokers, and custodians

• Working cross-functionally with IR and compliance

• Assisting with front-office trade support

• Preparing metrics, market analysis, and presentation materials

• Ad hoc projects and operational initiatives

New Jersey-based role. Currently in-office with potential to move to 4 days/week in office in the future.
