Business Intelligence Analyst – Private Equity

This is an in office position, 5 days a week. The firm is only seeking candidates with permanent US residency.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and technology-oriented Business Intelligence Analyst to join a fast-growing, collaborative, and successful Private Equity firm in New York City. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in helping drive reporting automation, investment analytics, operational intelligence, and data-driven decision-making across the firm.

This role sits at the intersection of private equity, business intelligence, financial analytics, and reporting technology. You will work directly with the investment, finance, operations, and investor relations teams to help improve how data is gathered, structured, analyzed, automated, and communicated throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing large data sets, identifying trends, improving workflows, building reporting solutions, and thinking about how data supports investment analysis, investor communications, operational processes, and strategic decision-making. You are intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and excited by the opportunity to leverage technology and automation tools to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities across the firm.

Candidates with experience in alternative investments, including private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, or real estate private equity are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities may include:

• Assist with investment analysis, benchmarking, and performance reporting at the fund, portfolio, and company levels
• Analyze large and complex financial and operational data sets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for process improvement and automation
• Help create and improve automated workflows across accounting, operations, investor reporting, and investment functions
• Support investment monitoring and reporting processes alongside investment and finance teams
• Build and maintain projection and forecasting models, including portfolio projections and cash flow planning
• Assist with internal and external reporting materials, including , Valuation analyses, Investor reporting, DDQs, Newsletters, Marketing materials, Investor inquiries
• Prepare quarterly valuation committee deliverables and related reporting
• Help improve the consistency, organization, and usability of data across the firm
• Work closely with multiple teams to better understand how data is consumed throughout an alternative investment platform

Required Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence, Financial Data Analytics, Investment Reporting, Performance Analytics, Financial Planning & Reporting Analysis, and/or Investment Operations Analytics. You are able to drive automation and reporting by analyzing data, turning knowledge into process and automation
• Strong experience working with large data sets, reporting tools, and data analysis.
• Experience with investment performance monitoring and analytics platforms such as DealCloud, PitchBook, Chronograph, Preqin, BlueFlame, or Alteryx/KNIME
• Exposure to SQL, Python, Snowflake, or similar data/querying tools preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required. You have worked with large spreadsheets
• Understanding of how data flows across an alternative investment firm, including investment, operations, accounting, and investor relations functions
• Experience within alternative investments, including Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Venture Capital or Real Estate Private Equity is highly desired
• Understanding of fund accounting and private fund operations processes is a plus
• Interest in technology, reporting systems, automation tools, and data-driven process improvement, including AI is a must!
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and team-oriented

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related fields preferred
• Open to candidates from other academic backgrounds with strong relevant experience
