Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a excellent communication skills, and a passion for pediatrics. As a PTA, you will implement physical therapy treatments, collaborate with healthcare professionals, and support patient progress through personalized care plans. Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Perform therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques.
- Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately following clinical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physicians, occupational therapists, and caregivers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Communicate clearly with clients and their families regarding treatment procedures and progress updates.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) management with thorough documentation of all patient interactions and care plans.
Experience
- Experience working with pediatric populations in settings such as clinics, geriatrics, or home health is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, and medical terminology relevant to pediatric care is essential.
- Familiarity with physical therapy treatment implementation including manual therapy techniques like trigger point therapy and therapeutic exercises.
- Strong communication skills for effective caregiver engagement and client interaction.
- Experience with discharge planning processes in acute care or outpatient environments is advantageous.
