Purpose of Position
The Development Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Community Relations team to achieve its fundraising and communications objectives. The Development Coordinator will focus on organizing and maintaining key elements of donor services and streamlining our fundraising processes. The Development Coordinator will support strategic communications, fundraising, events, and donor engagement.
Essential Job Functions
Agency Responsibilities
- Utilize Microsoft Office for communication and documentation, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Complete documentation and reports within established time frames.
- Act cooperatively with coworkers and team members. Model appropriate behavior and social skills.
- Attend scheduled staff trainings and staff meetings as directed by supervisor.
- Monitor and promptly resolve/report issues that affect the health or safety of youth, staff, or the facility.
- Prepare documentation of plans and activities to ensure compliance with contracts and agency requirements.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities designated by supervisor or CEO.
General Duties
- Assist in implementing plans and strategies to improve donor retention, increase donor engagement, and broaden our base of support.
- Manage donor data, gifts and pledges, and other records in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensure donor acknowledgements and other correspondence are sent in a timely manner
- Prepare and deliver donor reports, presentations, and other materials as required.
- Research and recommend the best fundraising approaches for donors.
- Provide follow-up and feedback to our donors on what their donations were used for to ensure that our donors' impact is clearly and consistently communicated, both verbally and in writing.
- Assist and implement new fundraising events to build community awareness and increase recurring individual donations and corporate giving.
- Develop creative ways to recognize, support, and thank donors and community partners.
- Assist the Community Relations Coordinator in organizing and managing fundraisers and special events from concept to completion, ensuring efficient operation, revenue, and agency messaging.
- Support the agency in communicating the impact of our work and raising funds to support our mission by working with the Communications Coordinator to create materials including project updates, fact sheets, donor communications and presentations.
- Attend marketing and promotional events as needed to represent the agency and increase awareness in the community.
- Lead the agency’s annual Big Give campaign and steward participants to increase retention.
- Attend Grants and Foundations meetings to present donation reports and possible corporate giving programs.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities designated by the Chief Operations Officer and/or CEO.
Working Conditions
- Salary: Salary commensurate with formal preparation, experience and organization funding status. Fringe benefits outlined in the organization's personnel handbook.
- Hours: Position is not exempt from federal wage and hour guidelines; position requires flexibility. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed
- On-Call Duty: None.
- Office Base: New Braunfels
- Supervision: Responsible to the Chief Operations Officer.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing or Business Administration, preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Prior marketing and development experience preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in fundraising, sponsorships, sales, or business development, with a track record of securing five-figure gifts or sponsorships.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with corporate partners or clients.
- Comfort with networking, relationship-based fundraising, and direct solicitation.
- Nonprofit experience preferred but not required.
- Must demonstrate computer skills, particularly proficiency with learning the donation software system and Microsoft Office.
- Good driving record required.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
