Primary Purpose:

This position is responsible for the delivery of ABA therapy services to clients we serve under direct

and constant supervision of their supervisor and with close partnership of peers within a highly

structured work environment. Registered Behavior Technician I work with clients to teach and

support them as they acquire the skills in the individualized treatment plan (e.g., ISP, IEP, or PBSP).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Maintains a basic understanding of physical management and client safety including passing

QBS training including but not limited to routinely applying basic restraint and safety

techniques to small children and follow a written response plan in standard situations without

deviation.

 Provides direct behavioral intervention services to clients under the supervision of their BCBA.

 Prepares for sessions as identified in the written plan.

 Implements behavior change and intervention strategies indicated in the written plan with

fidelity.

 Collects data on client’s target behaviors and inputs into the CBPI client management system.

 Maintains organized materials and records.

 Provides basic problem-solving in collaboration with BCBA client’s team(s).

 Attends team meetings

 Maintains professional relationships with parents, clients, and other members of a

multidisciplinary team.

 Complies with applicable, regulatory, and workplace requirements for data collection, storage,

and transportation.

 Maintains professional boundaries (e.g., avoid dual relationships, conflict of interest, social

media contacts)

 Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

 Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not supervise other staff members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience

and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Must be able to pass competency exam and obtain CBT license upon hire with the company. Must be

able to pass all assessments needed to obtain RBT License within 3 weeks of hire with the company.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,

and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak

effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common

fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar

graphs.

Computer Skills

Has advanced basic computer job skills including logging on to systems, ability to communicate by

email, ability to compose documents, enter database information, create presentations, download

forms, and preserve/backup important data.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or

diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized

situations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit

for extended periods of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or

feel, reach with hands or arm, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Must be able to lift to

50 lbs, unassisted, including lifting and carrying clients with adaptive equipment.

 Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time

 Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as

indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan while working with children with

challenging behavior

 Must have the dexterity to be able to quickly move, block, and/or pivot to prevent self or

others being injured during aggressive episodes

This position requires specific vision requirements including peripheral vision (ability to observe an

area that can be seen up and down or to the left or right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth

and perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships), ability to

adjust focus (ability to adjust the eyes to bring an object into sharp focus), Close vision (clear vision at

20 inches or less), and distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee

encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. This position involves highly

physical activity while performing client services.

 Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites

as needed. Job sites may include CBPI centers, client schools, and client home environments.
