Primary Position Objectives
To effectively support operations by maintaining and implementing systems and programs with regard to tooling and machine maintenance to support production schedules, continuous improvements to the quality, cost, and lead-time of goods and services provided to the customers of CSS. Works independently to diagnosis or work from relatively complex verbal or written instructions designing, building (including gauge building), repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities
Description of Duties
Trouble shoot & Maintenance of Plant Equipment.
Advanced Machine repair.
Sets-up and operates standard machine tools and other machinery to close tolerances in manufacturing machine parts.
Fabricate fixtures – gages as required.
Meets with other personnel regarding instruction, in the design, maintenance or repair of machinery and equipment to assure quality standard.
Operates forklift trucks and other material devices in the movement of heavy machinery.
Performs Lock out/Tag out safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
Maintains required records.
Assist with production tooling if required.
Lean Initiatives
Assists in development & implementation of Lean Projects.
Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement.
Participates in Lean Projects and SDWT’s
Other
Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards as well as good housekeeping standards.
May be required to assist or otherwise instruct other personnel.
Performs other duties as may be required.
Attendance is an essential function of the job.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
High School, Trade School graduate or demonstrated equivalent skills.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in the field of machine maintenance.
Experience in the maintaining of Laser Welding equipment & fixtures highly desirable
Ability to make independent judgment decisions
An understanding of Manufacturing Engineering - Quality Engineering.
Familiar with principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing and assembly.
Detail & Task driven work ethic.
Physical Requirements
Visual ability (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.
Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
