Summary:

  • The Clinical Group Facilitator is responsible for providing clinical group therapy to clients in CT Renaissance's residential programs.  The Clinical Group Facilitator will deliver person-centered, culturally responsive, trauma-informed services for individuals with substance use and/or co-occurring disorders.  Interventions delivered will be clinical and include, but not be limited to CBT, DBT, Seeking Safety, USF Model, and Co-Occurring Groups. Facilitator is responsible for managing and delivering group content, maintaining client documentation and meeting funder requirements for service delivery. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate a wide array of clinically based substance use and mental health-oriented groups.
  • Input all clinical documentation in Connecticut Renaissance's EHR accurately and timely.
  • Utilize motivational enhancement and engagement strategies appropriate to the individual's stage of readiness and desire to change.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to direct and plan client care and assess needs and performance within the program.
  • Where required, communicate with referral sources on the status of each client's progress and performance within the program, including the preparation of reports and CDCS data entry (West)
  • Participate in all required internal and external meetings.
  • Provide urinalysis/breathalyzer testing when indicated and within guidelines of monitoring.
  • Assist with daily residential tasks including but not limited to headcount, tours, medication monitoring, logbook maintenance and transportation of clients when needed
  • Attend all required trainings and supervisions to enhance knowledge and skill level.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervisions.
  • Adhere to state and federal regulations, DSS and ASAM requirements, and standards of accreditation, facility licensure and funding sources.
  • Assist with the development of group content.
  • Maintain professional licensure, certification, and continuing education.
  • May perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

Knowledge Of:

  • Treatment of substance use and co-occurring disorders, including evidence-based interventions.
  • The biological and psychosocial dimensions of substance use, mental health and co-occurring disorders, including diagnosis, assessment and treatment.
  • Residential treatment and milieu.
  • HIPAA regulations and other regulatory laws
  • Documentation within an Electronic Health Record.
  • Group therapy process and content.
  • General office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability To:

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage priorities effectively to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to employ effective organizational skills to meet goals.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Utilize therapeutic modalities in both group and individual settings.
  • Manage client crises.

Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree with Licensure in Behavioral Health (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LADC) in CT. OR Associate Licensure in Behavioral Health (LPC-A, LMSW, LMFT-A).
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience in behavioral health field; experience in a residential setting preferred.
  • Experience in trauma informed care preferred.
  • Experience with substance abuse clients, co-occurring diagnosed clients and criminal justice population preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified

Other:

  • Must be dependable and reliable, detailed oriented; and able to interface easily with clients, staff, and referral sources.
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Position requires climbing stairs and the ability to lift 20 lbs or more.
  • May need to travel to other CTR locations.
  • Must successfully complete the introductory probationary employment period.
  • Must have a valid CT driver's license.
