Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction/millwork estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and familiarity with industry-standard software.. The Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and site visits.
- Analyze project requirements and collaborate with project managers to develop pricing strategies.
- Fulfilling Project Management duties.
- Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Review contracts and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations.
- Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and presentations.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, contracts, and changes throughout the project duration.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
- Familiarity with cost control measures and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
- Previous experience on construction sites is highly desirable, providing insight into practical challenges faced during execution.
- Knowledge of construction management principles and practices is essential.
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in using estimation software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is preferred.
