Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized Accounting and Purchasing Specialist to manage the procurement of goods and oversee the efficient movement of materials. This role ensures products are purchased cost-effectively, delivered on time, and properly tracked through the supply chain. The ideal candidate will bridge purchasing and logistics to support smooth day-to-day operations by supporting the sales team and office operations.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement
- Manage vendor system costing
- Create and manage purchase orders for customer orders as well as office supplies and their deliveries
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust reorder points
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier data
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
Logistics
- Track inbound shipments for purchases
- Work with carriers, freight companies, and vendors to resolve shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies
Cross-Functional
- Collaborate with warehouse, operations, and accounting teams
- Support sales team with materials availability for order timelines
- Cross train for invoicing customers, processing mail, and maintain equipment serial numbers
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of experience in accounting, purchasing, logistics, or supply chain
- Strong analytical and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of shipping processes and logistics coordination
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems
- Knowledge of freight, shipping regulations, or import/export processes
- Experience in manufacturing business
