Connect Staffing is hiring an Operations & Training Coordinator for an outdoor building materials distribution yard in Riverside, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $27.18/hr, Monday–Saturday with overtime available. In this role, you will oversee inventory cycle counts, act as the receiving point person for incoming rail cars and vans, and train new associates on saws, machinery, and yard equipment. This is a long-term placement with a full benefits package available upon hire, including union benefits.

Responsibilities
- Train new associates to safely and efficiently operate saws, machinery, and yard equipment — and cross-train backup personnel to maintain coverage in all roles.
- Monitor and enforce PPE compliance on an hourly basis, including safety glasses, work boots, proper lifting techniques, and team lifts.
- Maintain and update the training benchmark matrix to track associate progress and completion milestones.
- Develop, update, and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to improve yard safety, efficiency, and daily workflow.
- Partner with the 9 AM Production Supervisor to ensure a safe shift close.
- Report accidents, safety concerns, equipment failures, or behavioral issues to yard supervision immediately.
Minimum Requirements
- 1 year of experience in a warehouse, yard, distribution, or production environment with training or lead responsibilities.
- Ability to read and write in English and Spanish sufficient to complete training documentation and incident reports
- Active forklift certification or completion of operator safety training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be bilingual
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting inventory cycle counts and managing stock rotation in a yard or warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with SOP development or updating written procedures for safety and operations.
- Experience receiving inbound freight from rail cars, flatbeds, or delivery vans.
- Ability to operate or train others on industrial saws or heavy yard equipment.
- Experience in building materials, lumber, landscaping supply, or outdoor distribution environments.
- Comfort communicating via email with supervision teams and flagging action items across group inboxes.
