Material Handler - Aluminum Forging - 2nd Shift

Connect Staffing is hiring a Material Handler for an aluminum forging manufacturing facility in Santa Ana, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $18.50/hr with approximately 8 hours of overtime per week. In this role, you will fill carts with parts and molds, load and unload parts into tumblers and etching baskets, and transport materials between departments on the production floor. Schedule: Monday–Thursday 3:30 PM–2:00 AM; Fridays 1:30 PM–10:00 PM; Saturdays as needed

Work Environment: Manufacturing Plant / Factory — metal and machine shop, very hot environment

Overtime: Weekly OT required (~8 hrs/wk); Saturdays as needed

Responsibilities

• Push and pull carts and bins loaded with aluminum parts and molds throughout the facility and between departments.
• Stage parts in the correct work areas according to production needs.
• Stock workstations with parts to keep production lines running.
• Maintain accurate part and work piece counts throughout the shift.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including steel toe boots, long sleeve shirts, heavy-duty gloves, safety glasses, and a mask.
• Keep work areas organized and follow lean workplace standards.

Minimum Requirements

• 3 months of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Basic math and measuring skills sufficient to read job travelers and verify part counts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a metal fabrication, machining, or forging environment.
• Familiarity with part traveler documents or basic production tracking.
• Comfort working in high-heat industrial environments for full shifts.
• Experience loading and unloading industrial equipment such as tumblers, vibratory finishers, or chemical etching baskets.
• Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions in both English and Spanish.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push and pull carts and bins exceeding 100 lbs.
• Ability to work comfortably in a very hot metal and machine shop environment.
• Ability to wear required PPE for the full shift: steel toe boots (employee-provided), long sleeve shirt, heavy-duty gloves, safety glasses, and a mask.
• Must communicate effectively in English.
• Drug screen required.
• Background check required.
• E-Verify / work authorization required.
• Pre-employment physical/fit-for-duty exam required (Concentra Clinic).
• ITAR compliance: must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person.
• In compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person.
