Connect Staffing is hiring an Environmental Health Safety Specialist for an aerospace parts manufacturer in Santa Ana, CA. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $26–$34/hr depending on experience. In this role, you will conduct regulatory compliance testing, inspect facilities and equipment for hazards, investigate workplace incidents, and support the development of health and safety programs across the manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities
- Conduct air quality, noise, and temperature testing to verify compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards.
- Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents and help implement preventive measures.
- Develop and support health and safety programs and procedures including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces, Fall Protection, and Chemical Management.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports to agencies such as Cal/OSHA, DTSC, AQMD, State Water Boards, and local Fire Departments.
- Conduct or coordinate worker training on safety laws, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
Minimum Requirements
- 1 year of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with California regulatory agencies and reporting requirements, including Cal/OSHA, DTSC (Department of Toxic Substances Control), AQMD (Air Quality Management District), and State Water Boards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Experience developing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for workplace incidents.
- Hands-on experience overseeing safety device installation on industrial machinery.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene practices including chemical, physical, and biological hazard assessment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and reporting.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
