Connect Staffing is hiring an Electrical Engineer for a solar inverter and energy storage systems manufacturer in Houston, TX. In this role, you will diagnose and repair solar inverters and power electronics equipment at the board level, conduct high-voltage circuit testing, and travel to project sites across Houston for troubleshooting and commissioning support. This is a hands-on technical role with real growth potential into advanced diagnostics and broader engineering functions.
Pay:$30–$40/hr
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: Hybrid – Houston, TX (up to 50% travel may be required)
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Work Environment: Repair center with occasional site travel across Houston
Responsibilities
- Diagnose solar inverter and power electronics faults at the board level and perform component-level replacement according to engineering and repair standards.
- Test repaired equipment, including high-voltage circuits, following comprehensive safety protocols.
- Travel to project sites across Houston to support troubleshooting, commissioning, and warranty service.
- Document repair data and analyze trends to support process improvements and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) standards throughout all repair activities.
- Contribute to the development of repair procedures and training materials based on repair center and field experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency with test and measurement tools, including multimeters and oscilloscopes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PV (photovoltaic) inverters, ESS (energy storage systems), or similar power conversion equipment.
- Familiarity with high-voltage safety procedures and lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices.
- Experience using digital systems or software for repair logging, data analysis, or work instruction tracking.
- Background in commissioning, warranty service, or field technical support.
- Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with engineering, service, or training teams.
- Hands-on experience with circuit boards, power electronics, or related electrical systems.
