Senior Accountant – Corporate Accounting
Global Publicly Traded Manufacturing Company | Oak Brook, IL (Hybrid)
- Compensation: Up to $120,000 12% Target Bonus
- Work Model: 3 days per week in-office (Monday required)

As the Corporate Accounting team expands, the organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support complex accounting initiatives involving acquisitions, global investments, intangible assets, and enterprise financial system integrations.
The Opportunity
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role within the Corporate Accounting team, supporting M&A transactions, purchase accounting, legal entity management, intangible asset accounting, and financial integration projects. Reporting to senior accounting leadership, this role provides exposure to complex technical accounting matters, SAP Central Finance (CFIN) implementations, global consolidations, SEC reporting support, and cross-functional projects involving Finance, IT, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
M&A & Investment Accounting
- Support accounting for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, and divestitures
- Assist with purchase accounting, valuation support, and acquisition-related accounting entries
- Prepare accounting for intangible assets, intellectual property, and equity method investments
- Support impairment analyses and technical accounting documentation
- Prepare accounting memos and position papers for significant transactions
- Assist with legal entity accounting, intercompany transactions, and foreign currency impacts
SAP CFIN Integration & Finance Transformation
- Support financial integration of acquired businesses into SAP Central Finance (CFIN)
- Assist with onboarding newly acquired entities into centralized financial reporting processes
- Help align charts of accounts, data mapping, and financial reporting structures across business units
- Partner with Finance, IT, FP&A, and Internal Audit on system integration initiatives
- Support process improvements that enhance reporting efficiency and strengthen internal controls
Financial Reporting & Close
- Support month-end close activities for newly integrated entities
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules
- Assist with consolidated reporting, intercompany eliminations, and financial analysis
- Support SEC reporting and financial statement footnote preparation
- Assist with implementation and maintenance of financial reporting interfaces and reporting tools
Controls & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Support SOX compliance and internal control implementation for newly integrated businesses
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal, IT, and Operations on acquisition and integration initiatives
- Assist with Day 1 and post-acquisition financial integration planning
- Cross-train across additional Corporate Accounting functions including pensions, hedging, and other technical accounting areas
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
- 4 years of progressive corporate accounting experience
- Experience within a large publicly traded or multinational organization preferred
- Experience supporting M&A transactions, acquisitions, intangible assets, or corporate investments strongly preferred
- Experience with SAP ERP systems required; SAP Central Finance (CFIN) experience highly preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SOX internal controls
- Experience with financial consolidations and intercompany accounting
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
