About the Role
This is a senior execution and underwriting leadership role within the US Private Credit platform, serving as a key lieutenant to the sector head. The individual will be responsible for driving end-to-end transaction execution, structuring, and credit decisioning across a diversified portfolio. You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, take ownership of complex transactions, and play a critical role in building out a specialized vertical within the platform.
This is a deal leadership seat β not support, not origination-only, and not a junior step-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with the sector head to lead underwriting, structuring, and execution of private credit investments
- Take full ownership of transaction workstreams from evaluation and screening through structuring, negotiation, and close
- Drive investment committee process, including preparation and presentation of detailed credit memos
- Perform advanced credit underwriting including downside analysis, covenant structuring, and risk mitigation
- Lead review and negotiation of legal documentation with internal legal teams and external counsel
- Oversee and mentor junior team members on live deals and portfolio monitoring
- Collaborate with global colleagues and internal stakeholders across PMs, Ratings, and Legal
- Monitor portfolio investments including performance tracking, amendments, and approvals
- Contribute to strategy development and broader platform initiatives
Qualifications
- Significant experience in private credit, direct lending, or project finance/specialty lending at a bank
- Proven ability to lead transactions end-to-end, not just support them
- Deep experience in credit underwriting, deal structuring, and legal documentation and negotiation
- Demonstrated ability to manage deal processes and junior team members
Strongly Preferred
- Buy-side credit or insurance asset management experience
- Track record of leading complex, structured transactions
- Experience within investment-grade or structured credit frameworks
