Key Responsibilities
- Audit execution & walkthroughs: Perform walkthroughs and substantive testing across key business cycles including revenue, inventory, purchasing, and financial close processes.
- Audit documentation: Prepare audit workpapers, process narratives, flowcharts, and testing documentation in alignment with professional audit standards.
- Internal & external audit coordination: Support internal and external audit engagements by assisting with PBC requests, evidence gathering, and audit support schedules.
- Issue identification & follow-up: Identify audit observations, document findings, and track remediation efforts in partnership with process owners.
- Risk assessment exposure: Participate in audit planning and risk assessment activities, including identifying control gaps, process inefficiencies, and compliance risks.
- Audit reporting: Assist in drafting audit memos and summary reports with clear, concise observations and recommendations.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with accounting, finance, and operations teams to understand processes and support audit requests.
- Professional standards: Apply strong professional judgment, independence, and ethical standards consistent with public accounting best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; public accounting experience or audit-focused internship strongly preferred.
- Audit background: Familiarity with audit methodology, testing approaches, and documentation standards; public accounting experience is a plus.
- Technical skills: Strong Excel skills; exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or Epicor is a plus.
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills to document audit procedures and communicate findings.
- Career trajectory: Interest in continuing a career in audit with exposure to both financial and operational processes in industry.
