What are the responsibilities and job description for the AR/ Cash Applications Specialist position at Connect Search, LLC?
I’m partnering with a rapidly growing organization to identify an experienced AR / Cash Applications Specialist to join their accounting team.
This is a newly created position due to continued company growth and a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on with cash applications, payment processing, reconciliations, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Apply customer payments received via ACH, wire, checks, and credit cards
• Process daily deposits across multiple banks and payment systems
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate customer accounts
• Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, overpayments, and missing remittance information
• Process customer refunds and maintain supporting documentation
• Assist with new customer and vendor setup
• Partner closely with Collections and Billing to resolve payment discrepancies
• Maintain documentation and audit trails for cash application activity
• Support month-end by ensuring cash is accurately applied and reconciled within deadlines
• Manage AR-related inquiries and provide additional accounting support as needed
What We’re Looking For:
• 2 years of experience in Cash Applications, Accounts Receivable, and/or Collections
• Strong reconciliation, investigative, and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented and process-driven approach
• Strong Excel skills and experience working within an ERP system
• Sage Intacct experience is a plus
• Self-starter who is proactive, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of their work
South Houston Area | 100% Onsite, Monday–Friday
Important: This position has a hands-on daily cash receipts component and requires driving between two nearby company offices to retrieve customer payments and mail, prepare deposits, and complete the cash application process.
