ROLE AND PURPOSE:
The Coordinator of Instruction supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of high-
quality instructional systems across campuses. Reporting to the Senior Director of Instruction, this role leads key
district initiatives related to instructional resources, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), student engagement
strategies, daily intervention and extension (DOL), summer learning, student learning experiences, and library media
services. This role collaborates with campus and district leaders to ensure instructional practices are aligned to state
standards and district priorities, strengthen instructional quality, and promote equitable access to rigorous and
engaging learning experiences for all students.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, Mathematics, Science, or
  related field preferred.
Valid Texas teaching certificate preferred.
Valid Texas administrator certification preferred.


Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience in instructional coaching, curriculum development, or campus- or
  district-level leadership preferred.
Experience supporting PLCs, instructional systems, or student engagement initiatives preferred.
Experience working with diverse student populations and implementing inclusive instructional
  strategies preferred.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Strong knowledge of state standards (e.g., TEKS) and instructional best practices across grade levels and
   content areas.
Understanding of curriculum development, alignment, and implementation processes.
Knowledge of effective student engagement strategies and instructional practices that promote active
   learning.
Experience with Professional Learning Community (PLC) frameworks and collaborative planning
  structures.
Knowledge of intervention and extension systems, including differentiation and tiered supports.

Understanding of instructional resource selection, implementation, and management.
Familiarity with library media programs and their role in supporting literacy, research, and student
  learning experiences.
Knowledge of data-driven instruction and continuous improvement cycles.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Ability to analyze student performance data and translate findings into actionable instructional
  recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to facilitate professional learning.
Ability to collaborate effectively with campus administrators, teachers, librarians, and district staff.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and instructional technology tools.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
I. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES AND MATERIALS

Support the selection, organization, and implementation of high-quality instructional resources
  aligned to state standards and district priorities.
Ensure instructional materials are accessible, coherent, and supportive of diverse learners.
Develop systems and tools to support effective use of instructional resources across campuses.
Monitor implementation and provide feedback to improve consistency and effectiveness.

II. PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES (PLCS)

Develop and support districtwide PLC frameworks and expectations.
Provide guidance and tools for effective collaborative planning, data analysis, and instructional
  decision-making.
Support campus leaders and teachers in implementing strong PLC routines focused on student
  learning.
Monitor PLC effectiveness and provide targeted support to improve outcomes.

III. STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTION

Support implementation of high-impact student engagement strategies across classrooms.
Model and promote instructional practices that increase rigor, participation, and student ownership
  of learning.
Collaborate with campuses to improve classroom environments and instructional delivery.

IV. INTERVENTION AND EXTENSION (DOL)

Develop and support systems for daily intervention and extension to meet diverse student needs.
Assist campuses in designing schedules, structures, and instructional strategies for intervention and
  enrichment.
Monitor effectiveness of intervention systems and support adjustments based on data.

V. SUMMER LEARNING AND EXTENDED LEARNING

Plan and support district summer learning programs aligned to academic priorities.
Ensure programs address learning gaps and provide enrichment opportunities.
Monitor participation, quality, and impact of summer learning experiences.


VI. STUDENT LEARNING EXPERIENCES AND LIBRARY MEDIA SERVICES

Support development of meaningful and engaging student learning experiences beyond the core
  curriculum.
Promote opportunities that connect learning to real-world applications and student interests.
Collaborate with departments and campuses to expand access to high-quality experiences for all
  students.

Support the development and continuous improvement of library media programs across the
  district.
Ensure alignment of library services with instructional goals, literacy development, and research
  skills.

VII. DATA, PROFESSIONAL LEARNING, AND COLLABORATION

Analyze district and campus data to identify trends, strengths, and areas of need.
Support campuses in using data to inform instruction, intervention, and enrichment.
Monitor implementation of instructional initiatives and provide feedback for continuous
  improvement.
Design and deliver professional development aligned to district instructional priorities.
Develop tools and resources to support PLCs, instructional planning, and engagement strategies.
Support onboarding and development of teachers and instructional staff.
Work closely with campus administrators and district departments to ensure alignment of
  instructional supports, expectations, and initiatives.
Communicate expectations, updates, and resources clearly to staff.


OTHER DUTIES:
Follows adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board priorities.
Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest traditions of public
   education and in support of the District's Mission Statement.
Performs other duties as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May supervise assigned staff, project teams, and consultants as directed by the Senior Director of
  Instruction.


EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE SKILLS:
Personal computer, printer, fax machine, copier, scanner, and calculator.
Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, One Drive, etc.).
Google Suite applications and instructional technology tools.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computers and peripherals.

  reaching.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
Environment: Works in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged
  hours.
Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.
