What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coolant Technician - 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm) position at ConMet?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform daily checks of coolant concentrations and make corrections accordingly
- Recycle coolant to removal oils and contaminates.
- Monitor and maintain proper function of PRAB mixing equipment and coolant recycling equipment.
- Perform Daily checks of oil levels in CNC equipment as needed.
- Assist in monitoring the Floor for fluid levels, spills though daily audits of all OSHA and environmental regulations are being in in relation to Fluids.
- Dispose of waste oil in proper location.
- Assist in the daily training, understanding and support of metal working fluids with CNC operators.
- Support and assist with other daily tasks as needed,
- Serve as a main point of contact for operators and supervisors for coolant support.
- Perform daily cleaning of floor and machines per schedule.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Must have a general knowledge of hand tools, fork lift license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, demonstrate ability to prioritize and self-manage.
- Strong reading, writing, math reasoning skills.
- Detail oriented, organized, ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to excel in a self-directed work setting. Ability to react to changing production demands.
- Quality and Safety conscious.
- High sense of urgency with focus on maximizing safety, uptime and quality.
- Works well with the team, supports other team members to maximize effective machine utilization.
- Consistently exhibits good housekeeping habits.
