Conlon Construction Co. is seeking Fixture Installers for big box store projects. This position requires travel and will support a short-term assignment. Project locations include Logan, UT and Jackson, MS.
Job Summary:
The Fixture Installer is responsible for the construction, erection, installation, repair, or tear down of owner supplied retail fixtures, including but not limited to: partitions, stockroom fixtures, pharmacy fixtures, fitting room construction, photo lab fixtures, cash wraps, salon fixtures, cafeteria fixtures, seating, cabinets, racks, gondolas, and signage. The duties in this job description are not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Construction
- Help unload fixtures from delivery trucks, which may include operating forklift and/or telehandlers and pallet jacks.
- Inventory existing/re-use fixtures. Gather fixture parts and transport from storage area to interior of store.
- Tear down and reassemble existing store fixtures.
- Assemble and disassemble scaffolding, ladders, and bracing for employees to work from.
- Assemble and layout fixture partitions both free standing and wall mount. Finish with skin wall, peg board, wire grid or in the case of fitting rooms, doors.
- Layout and install cabinetry and hardware such as jewelry cases, cash wraps, pharmacy fixtures, optical fixtures, coffee shop fixtures, brand specific display cabinetry, offices etc.
- Assemble, layout and place free standing fixture racks, gondolas, signage, lockers, office furniture etc.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and contracts.
- Keep work area clean and in safe condition while complying with all state and federal safety regulations.
- Maintain general conditions on the jobsite, which may include jobsite cleanup, and removal of scrap and other waste material.

Qualifications/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in construction, fixture installation experience is preferred.
- A Valid Driver License is required and use of insured personal vehicle.
Physical Requirements:
- Mobility: Fixture Installers are required to stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb for extended periods of time and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to repetitively lift and/or move up to 30 lbs., push pull up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
- Working Conditions: This position requires employee to work indoors and outdoors in inclement weather, including wet surfaces and high variation in temperatures. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, power tools, and heights. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is highly variable.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and stressful environment.
