Job Title: Materials Handler 1
Location: 7000 Siemens Rd, Wendell, NC, 27591
Duration: 12 Month with Possibility of Extension
Shift Hours: 3 pm -11:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler / Warehouse Associate to support warehouse and production operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, and delivering materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring safe and efficient material movement within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials and verify accuracy
- Pick, pack, and ship materials for internal and external customers
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers safely
- Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure safe operation
- Use RF scanners and SAP system to track inventory and transactions
- Conduct cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records
- Transport materials to production and designated storage areas
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation for outgoing materials
- Follow standard operating procedures and maintain organized work areas
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company policies
- Support continuous improvement and assist with additional tasks as needed
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs occasionally
- Basic knowledge of warehouse and material handling processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills in English
- Commitment to safety and meeting deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year experience in warehouse/material handling
- Experience operating forklifts or warehouse equipment
- Familiarity with SAP and RF scanners
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Technical training or associate degree is a plus
