Job Title: Material Handler
Job Location: Pomona, CA
Duration: 03 Months
Shift: 5:00AM-1:30PM
Pay Rate:$18.50/Hr
Responsible for the movement of materials through the paint line process (handling, positioning, hanging, machine operating, etc.) and ensuring paint quality for all parts being processed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience: None
- Specialized Training: None
- Knowledge: Basic shop math
- Skills: Basic computer skills , and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools
- Abilities:
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language
- Must be able to work standing for the duration of the shift
- Must be able to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs , and push/pull/slide heavy material
- Must be able to make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb
- Other: Must be at least 18 years of age
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Hangs, loads, places, and removes parts/materials from paint line conveyor or any other paint line machinery.
- Verifies and processes work orders in adherence to the production schedule or expedited orders.
- Marks coated parts with identifying information.
- Inspects coated materials for paint defects and makes repairs as applicable.
- Initiates scrap tickets to generate part replacement orders.
- Properly discards scrap and/or defected materials not serviceable.
- Operates paint-line machinery (e.g. paint-booth, wash tanks, curing oven, and burn-off oven).
- Manually sprays hard to paint parts to help achieve 100% quality paint coverage.
- Performs and documents common routine testing conducted in paint lines (e.g. ground test, viscosity test, etc.).
- Tests water samples for conformance to specification (e.g. pH levels).
- Adds specified chemicals to water tanks in order to reach proper chemical levels.
- Properly drains holding tank in compliance with applicable safety regulatory laws.
- Observes, inspects and performs routine testing of machine gauges, dials, or other indicators to detect defects or deviations from standards, and makes adjustments.
- Cleans and maintains machines, equipment, and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.
- Performs other work as directed by Supervision.
