We are seeking an experienced UI Developer / Accessibility Specialist with 6 years of expertise in building accessible, standards-compliant web applications. The ideal candidate will develop clean, maintainable front-end solutions while ensuring full compliance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards. This role collaborates closely with UX architects and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, user-friendly interfaces using modern web technologies and established design systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop responsive UI components using Semantic HTML5, CSS, and SASS following modern web standards.
- Integrate front-end solutions into Angular and MVC .NET frameworks.
- Implement accessibility features including WCAG 2.2 Level AA, ARIA, color contrast compliance, keyboard navigation, and focus management.
- Perform accessibility testing using NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, axe DevTools, and WAVE.
- Collaborate with UX teams to implement accessible design patterns and maintain consistency across applications.
- Support and extend USWDS and other design systems while communicating technical standards and best practices to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 6 years of experience with Semantic HTML5, CSS, SASS, Angular, and MVC .NET.
- Strong expertise in WCAG 2.2 Level AA, ARIA, keyboard navigation, focus management, and color contrast compliance.
- Experience with screen reader testing using NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
- Proficiency with accessibility auditing tools including axe DevTools and WAVE.
- Experience with web standards, technical communication, established design systems, wrapper components, and U.S. Web Design System (USWDS).
- Foundational knowledge of UX principles and design workflows.
