Position Reports To: Practice Manager
Essential Functions
- Takes histories, orders appropriate diagnostic tests, provides treatment to minor/routine problems, and give appropriate counseling to patients. Refers to physician as needed. Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
- Counsels patients and families and helps them understand issues related to physical and emotional health.
- Assist with inpatient care of surgical patients seeing new consultations and assisting with disposition.
- Potential to transition to an operation room assist, dependent on practice staffing.
- Participates in health promotional activities.
- Participates in decisions, planning, and policies related to clinical care.
- Conduct outpatient clinics for postoperative and trauma patient follow-up with some potential for new consults and procedures.
- Maintains thorough and complete medical records in a timely manner and demonstrates proficiency in using the Electronic Medical Record documentation system.
- Records statistics and conducts research as deemed necessary.
- Collaborates with staff and physicians to identify patient’s needs and help develop plan to meet those needs.
- Potential for shared weekends to be covered by the APP staff.
- Weekly schedule to be rotated between inpatient service, outpatient clinic and potentially OR assist.
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Active or Interim Washington State Registered Nurse and ARNP licensure, required by start date.
