Job Summary
We are a premier Glazing Subcontractor seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Windows and Doors Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing project leads, reviewing architectural plans, and preparing precise estimates for both residential and commercial sectors. You will collaborate closely with clients and project managers to ensure successful execution from the bid to contract landing. Responsibilities
- Plan Analysis: Review architectural blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings to develop precise cost estimates.
- Bid Preparation: Utilize estimating software (e.g., LogiKal, GDS, or Bluebeam) to prepare detailed bid proposals and take-offs.
- Site Evaluation: Conduct site visits to assess field conditions, take measurements, and refine estimates based on real-world constraints.
- Vendor Liaison: Collaborate with vendors suppliers to secure competitive material pricing and lead-time data.
- Project Handoff: Prepare comprehensive "win" packages for project managers, including scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and identified risks.
- Budget Oversight: Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, tracking change orders and adjusting estimates as needed.
- Compliance: Ensure all estimates align with local building codes, energy requirements (NFRC), and safety standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of aluminum storefronts, curtain walls, thermal breaks, and high-end residential window and door systems.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency in construction estimating software and PDF markup tools (Bluebeam Revu preferred).
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify "hidden" costs in specifications, such as specialized crane rentals, traffic control, or structural steel reinforcements.
- Communication: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers and clearly present value-engineering options to clients.
- Detail Orientation: High level of accuracy in performing take-offs to minimize waste and margin erosion.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically in glazing or window/door estimation.
- Licensing: Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Travel: Reliable transportation
- Education: High School Diploma required; Degree in Construction Management or related field is a plus.
- Language: English Required / Spanish Speaking a
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
