What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Receiving Specialist position at Confidential?
The role
You own everything that happens between a truck backing into our dock and inventory being live and sellable. The company moves home textiles — bedding, bath, and linens — which means high SKU counts, carton-level accuracy, and no tolerance for guesswork on counts or condition. This is a hands-on individual contributor role: you are the receiving function, and you are the checkpoint that keeps our inventory numbers honest.
What you’ll do
- Receive and verify inbound freight and container shipments against purchase orders — piece counts, SKU accuracy, damage, and shortages documented the same day
- Enter and reconcile receipts in our WMS/ERP so on-hand quantities are accurate and sellable inventory goes live fast
- Own the discrepancy process: flag shortages, overages, and damage to purchasing and vendors with clear documentation and photos
- Organize put away, slotting, and bin locations so pickers can find product without hunting
- Keep the dock and receiving area safe, clean, and audit-ready
What you need
- 3 years in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or distribution
- Working knowledge of a WMS or ERP system — we will train you on our software
- Genuine attention to detail; you’d rather stop and recount than let a bad number through
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, scanners, and RF/handheld devices
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and move for full shifts, and operate a manual pallet jack
Nice to have
- Experience with home textiles, soft goods, or another high-SKU consumer category a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Compensation
$25.00 hourly, flexible depending on experience, increase eligible after a 90 day trial period.
Benefits
- Generous paid time off — real vacation, not theoretical vacation
- Health insurance available through the company plan; the company does not currently contribute toward premiums
- Genuine work/life balance — a predictable schedule and reasonable hours; we do not run on late nights and weekends
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Benefits:
- Health insurance
Work Location: In person
