We offer rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed offsite in a controlled environment and conform to the same building codes as traditional construction.
Position Summary:
The Superintendent is responsible for the on-site supervision and successful completion of assigned construction projects. This position provides leadership, direction, and coordination for field personnel and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager to develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, while ensuring efficient planning and execution of all job site operations. All on-site supervisors report directly to the Superintendent. This role requires travel to remote job locations as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of construction from mobilization to closeout.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager in the preparation and maintenance of project schedules and budgets.
- Interpret and enforce contract documents, plans, specifications, and submittals.
- Select construction methods and procure equipment necessary for job completion.
- Enforce our safety program, conduct safety meetings, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Must hold a current OSHA 30 Certification and demonstrate strong safety leadership.
- Responsible for hiring, directing, and if necessary, terminating field personnel to maintain productivity and quality standards.
- Conduct regular meetings with subcontractors, employees, and stakeholders to communicate project expectations and updates.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of job documentation, including daily logs, safety reports, and labor tracking.
- Approve invoices and monitor job-related costs, ensuring proper coding and budget alignment.
- Conduct ongoing quality control inspections to ensure work meets contractual and company standards.
- Coach and mentor foremen and subordinate leaders in company procedures and job responsibilities.
- Maintain a professional jobsite appearance and serve as a direct representative of our company to clients and stakeholders.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage field operations with minimal oversight.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, scheduling, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and construction specifications.
- Skilled in project documentation, cost tracking, and schedule updates using computer software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to motivate and manage diverse construction teams.
- Must possess a valid OSHA 30 certification.
- Must be able to pass a background check as a condition of employment.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent climbing of ladders and stairs for site inspections.
- Constant walking and balancing on uneven surfaces such as mud, sand, or construction debris.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.
- Operation of computers and other technology for project management.
- Visual and auditory acuity to interact safely on construction sites and with personnel.
