About the Role
An established transportation and logistics operation is seeking an experienced Terminal Manager to lead terminal operations in Atlanta, GA. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in intermodal transportation, terminal operations, driver management, and DOT compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily terminal activities, managing dispatch and operational staff, driving efficiency, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, train, develop, and manage dispatch and terminal staff.
- Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Monitor employee performance through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Build strong working relationships with owner-operators, company drivers, customers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase operational efficiency and service quality.
- Investigate and resolve customer and operational concerns in a timely manner.
- Analyze terminal performance, customer efficiencies, and operating costs to drive continuous improvement.
- Support business growth through superior customer service and relationship management.
- Participate in management meetings, special projects, and strategic operational initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 3 years of intermodal transportation experience working directly with owner-operators and company drivers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership and team development experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation management software.
Preferred
- 5 years of transportation operations management experience in a similar industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work at a desk and computer for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and through virtual platforms.
- Ability to walk terminal facilities and yard locations in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
