We are a leading global provider of switching, monitoring, and control solutions for the utility, industrial, and defense sectors. Currently, we are seeking a strategic and highly technical Product Manager to drive the growth and evolution of our Switches and Meters portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Vice President, this senior-level position plays a pivotal role in shaping product strategy, driving market expansion, analyzing pricing, and managing the entire product lifecycle. You will act as the crucial bridge connecting engineering, sales, operations, and executive leadership to ensure our products continue to lead the market.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required; an MBA is highly preferred.
- Experience: 7 years of proven experience in product management, engineering, or technical business roles.
- Technical Expertise: A strong background in electromechanical products, meters, switches, or power distribution systems.
- Systems & Analytics: Demonstrated experience working with ERP and CRM systems, data analysis, pricing models, and financial forecasting.
- Communication: Exceptional technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Leadership: Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and a proven track record of project leadership.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience within the utility, industrial power, energy infrastructure, or related industries is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive, long-term product strategies and roadmaps for your assigned product lines.
- Product Development: Lead new product development initiatives from the initial concept phase through to successful commercialization.
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to uncover growth opportunities and stay ahead of emerging industry trends.
- Data-Driven Insights: Analyze ERP, CRM, and sales data to support strategic decision-making, evaluate product performance, and guide market expansion.
- Financial Management: Manage pricing strategies, conduct profitability analyses, and oversee market positioning.
- M&A Integration: Support the seamless integration of acquired product lines during mergers and acquisitions.
- Technical Documentation: Create high-quality technical documentation, white papers, product specifications, and compelling customer-facing materials.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and leadership teams to align business goals.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with customers, sales representatives, and industry partners through active market engagement and regular travel.
- Global Expansion: Identify and capitalize on opportunities for international growth and expansion into new sales channels.
Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position operating in both office and manufacturing environments (no remote work). The role requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs and involves approximately 25% travel.
Pay: $160,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
