This is an onsite position in New Orleans.
Overview
Maintains accurate financial records by supporting general ledger, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting activities while ensuring compliance, resolving discrepancies, and improving accounting processes and controls for the organization.
Duties
1. Maintain and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and properly supported.
2. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, reclassifications, and recurring entries.
3. Perform monthly general ledger and accounts receivable account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
4. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing supporting schedules and financial reports.
5. Process and maintain accounts receivable transactions, including customer invoices, cash receipts, credit memos, and adjustments.
6. Monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances, ensuring accurate and timely application of payments.
7. Manage the accounts receivable collections process by following up on past-due accounts and maintaining accurate aging reports.
8. Review customer account activity and resolve billing, payment, and account discrepancies.
9. Evaluate and process credit applications.
10. Set up new customers and vendors in the accounting system.
11. Generate cash reconciliations and ensure receipts are accurately recorded and deposited.
12. Generate monthly Commission Reports.
13. Maintain organized and accurate accounting records in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
14. Assist with departmental projects.
15. Provide backup support for critical tasks when department team members are out of the office.
16. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiency.
17. Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.

Requirements
1. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
2. Entry-level to mid-level experience in general accounting or bookkeeping.
3. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software (such as Sage or QuickBooks), and high attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods and have a full range of body movements and command of all five senses.
Work Environment
This position will be in a climate-controlled office. This position is an essential position and warrants on-site presence during working hours. Working hours are normally Monday through Friday. Specific arrival/departure hours will be discussed and agreed with respective manager.
Travel not required.

Pay: $26.84 - $33.83 per hour
