Senior Auditor
Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000
A growing public accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Senior Auditor to join its Assurance practice. This role offers the opportunity to lead fieldwork, interact directly with clients, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the successful execution of audit and assurance engagements across a diverse client base.
The ideal candidate is a CPA or CPA candidate with strong technical accounting and auditing knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Execution
• Participate in and lead audit engagements from planning through completion
• Perform and oversee audit testing procedures, including substantive testing and internal control evaluations
• Prepare and review workpapers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements and related disclosures
• Identify engagement risks and communicate findings and recommendations to management
Client Service
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients throughout the engagement process
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsiveness
• Coordinate information requests and assist clients in navigating audit requirements and deadlines
• Collaborate with engagement leadership to ensure a positive client experience
Technical Expertise
• Research accounting and auditing issues and assist in developing practical solutions
• Apply U.S. GAAP and professional auditing standards to engagement activities
• Stay current on changes in accounting standards, audit methodologies, and industry developments
Team Development
• Mentor and provide guidance to Staff Auditors and newer team members
• Review staff work and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth
• Assist with training and onboarding initiatives as needed
Project Management
• Manage multiple assignments and priorities while meeting deadlines
• Monitor engagement progress and communicate status updates to leadership
• Utilize audit technology, data analytics, and other tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA license or progress toward CPA certification preferred
• 3 years of public accounting audit experience
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and professional auditing standards
• Experience leading portions of audit engagements and reviewing staff work
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
