Overview
We are seeking an experienced part-time senior accountant to assist in the preparation, review and presentation of our financial statements. Strong excel skills and aptitude with accounting/operational software’s are a must, as well as a strong work ethic. We offer a flexible hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, and month-end closing processes including review of financial statements for accuracy and variances.
- Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including financial statements, management reports, and reports issued to lenders.
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts to optimize liquidity and cash management strategies.
- Support the full-time accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and assisting with any technical accounting issues.
- Utilize advanced spreadsheets, accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for data analysis, account reconciliation, and financial modeling.
- Drive process improvements through automation and system enhancements to increase efficiency in financial close processing and reporting cycles.
Experience
- Proven experience in internal financial statement preparation roles.
- Background in public accounting, and CPA license is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, account reconciliation processes including balance sheet reconciliation practices.
- Proficiency in various accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar software platforms; advanced Excel data analysis skills are essential.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data accurately while communicating insights clearly through comprehensive financial report writing.
