The company develops advanced, safety‑critical mobility solutions deployed across multiple product platforms and use cases, supported by large‑scale testing and simulation across numerous U.S. states.
The Insurance & Risk function plays a central role in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks associated with innovative technologies and operational models. The team builds and maintains enterprise‑level risk management frameworks, evaluates liability, auto, cyber, operational, and strategic risks, and partners across the organization to ensure exposures are properly understood and controlled. The function works closely with legal, policy, regulatory, safety, and product teams to ensure the company’s risk posture aligns with its risk appetite and long‑term strategic objectives.
You Will
- Lead enterprise‑wide risk management initiatives, establishing and maintaining processes to identify, assess, quantify, and monitor key operational, strategic, and emerging risks across multiple business lines.
- Develop, enhance, and operationalize risk management frameworks, methodologies, and governance structures to ensure consistent evaluation and reporting of exposures.
- Manage large, complex insurance renewals and the broader insurance portfolio, ensuring alignment with evolving risk profiles and organizational growth.
- Conduct deep‑dive risk analyses, including scenario modeling, exposure quantification, trend assessment, and loss forecasting to help guide senior‑level decision‑making.
- Drive cross‑functional risk reviews, collaborating with legal, product, safety, engineering, public policy, and operations teams to surface potential exposures early and implement mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate the risk implications of new products, technologies, partnerships, and market expansions, ensuring that risk assumptions are properly documented and integrated into planning.
- Oversee internal risk controls and documentation, ensuring strong alignment with governance requirements and consistent follow‑through among stakeholders.
- Continuously improve internal processes, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to automate and strengthen risk and insurance workflows.
- Guide and mentor team members through major project milestones, influencing cross‑functional alignment and ensuring clarity around objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Serve as a subject‑matter expert by clearly articulating risk perspectives, elevating potential issues, and driving alignment around risk tolerance and mitigation strategies.
You Have
- 7 years of experience in insurance, risk management, or underwriting with a proven track record handling complex, multi‑dimensional risks.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance lines (General Liability, Auto, Property, Cyber, etc.) and experience applying these frameworks in complex operational or technology‑driven environments.
- Demonstrated experience building or enhancing enterprise risk management programs, risk assessments, controls, or mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency conducting detailed risk analyses, process reviews, and developing sustainable, repeatable workflows or process maps.
- Experience independently leading risk‑related sub‑projects or cross‑functional work streams from scoping through execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s or JD preferred).
- Advanced education in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Law, or a quantitative discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or ARe.
- Juris Doctor (JD).
- Experience working within a fast‑moving technology organization or a company operating in a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment.
- Experience managing risk and insurance programs across multiple international jurisdictions.
