Position Overview
The Removal Defense Attorney will represent clients in removal proceedings and related humanitarian and family-based cases. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney ready to deepen courtroom experience and grow within a collaborative, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in removal proceedings before EOIR, including master and individual hearings.
- Prepare and file asylum, cancellation of removal, motions, and appeals.
- Collaborate with paralegals and senior attorneys to prepare strong factual and legal records.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients in Spanish and English.
- Conduct legal research, draft briefs and memoranda, and develop litigation strategies.
- Participate in training and case strategy sessions.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar license in good standing (any state).
- 2–4 years of immigration law experience, including removal defense or humanitarian cases.
- Fluency in Spanish and English required.
- Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to immigrant rights.
