Job Title: Metrology / Quality Inspector

Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and metrology to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. This role requires collaboration across departments, problem-solving, and mentoring of junior inspectors and technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections using knowledge of GD&T and metrology principles to verify product compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve questions from Operators, Inspectors, and Engineers.
- Train and mentor other inspectors and technicians.
- Participate in special projects related to tooling, fixtures, and gauges.
- Identify and support cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Create and execute CMM programs from part drawings or models.
- Develop and maintain inspection instructions for tools and systems.
- Support all departments by performing part inspections and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
Qualifications & Competencies
- Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T.
- Strong experience with mechanical inspection and manual/visual inspection tools, including:
- Calipers, gauges, micrometers, digital indicators
- Surface plates, optical comparators, microscopes
- Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), profilometers, hardness/durometer testers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; detail-oriented and accurate in data entry.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to foster positive relationships across functions.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and understand travelers and work instructions.
- Demonstrates problem-solving skills with an organized, analytical approach.
- Adaptable to a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong desire to learn and apply new skills.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with routine use of shop floor tools and machinery.
Physical Requirements
