We are seeking a dedicated and highly experienced Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS/PLS) to join our team in a fully remote role supporting multi-state surveying projects across residential, commercial, and multifamily work. In this position, you will serve as the Surveyor of Record (responsible charge) for at least two states, providing professional oversight, technical leadership, and certification of survey deliverables.

This role partners closely with project managers and survey production teams in a remote environment, helps resolve technical issues, and supports the growth of the department through mentorship and process improvement.
- Serve as Surveyor of Record for at least two assigned states, maintaining responsible charge consistent with state board rules and professional standards.
- Provide backup Surveyor of Record support for additional states as needed, including review and certification when coverage is required.
- Review boundary, topographic, as-built, construction staking support documentation, and other survey deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Review, prepare, sign, and seal survey documents as required, including plats, sketches, maps, reports, legal descriptions, and related exhibits.
- Establish and apply QA/QC processes to validate computations, coordinate geometry, monumentation calls, and deliverable consistency.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and survey production teams to confirm scope, resolve survey-related issues, manage priorities, and support schedule commitments.
- Provide technical direction to internal staff and subcontracted resources by interpreting standards, reviewing workflows, and answering technical questions.
- Mentor and support development of survey staff by sharing best practices, supporting problem-solving, and advising on state-specific requirements.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory updates, continuing education requirements, and professional standards impacting surveying practice across assigned states.
- Participate in internal meetings to support project handoffs, risk identification, and continuous improvement within the surveying department.
- Active Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS/PLS) license in good standing.
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain licensure in at least two states (or already licensed in two or more states).
- 10 years of experience functioning as a Professional Land Surveyor, including review and certification of survey deliverables.
- Strong knowledge of state statutes, administrative rules, and professional standards governing land surveying practice.
- Proficiency with surveying technology and data workflows (field-to-finish concepts), including familiarity with survey CAD and processing software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and documentation quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the Company’s insurer.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

- Ability to travel periodically for coordination, site visits, audits/QA, client meetings, or business needs (including within assigned states).

Pay: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
